Easter play · 1992

The Living Lord’s Supper

Revised by Graig F. Pitts. Music by Larry McGill and his band.

A poignant Easter play around the Last Supper. The table is set for Jesus and the twelve. Costumes give it a contemporary feel: Jesus is the only one in traditional dress; the disciples wear clothes of today.

Jesus announces that one of them will betray him. Each disciple stands in turn with a monologue about the impact Jesus has had on their life, and asks, “Is it I?” A narrator then outlines, from church history, what the future held for each of them. Jesus addresses the audience: “Do not be afraid” — and who he is, from Revelation 1:17–18.

Performed 2016, 2017, and 2018 by clients of Ark Aid Street Mission — in theatre and in churches across the London region.

Street-mission play · 2018

The Homeless Jesus

Written by Doug Whitelaw and Stephen Gallant. Music by Larry McGill and his band.

Inspired by the bronze of Jesus lying on a park bench, covered by a blanket, at King’s College, Western University. Two businessmen see the homeless Jesus and react in opposite ways: one is critical and dismissive; the other has compassion and gives his lunch to a homeless man nearby.

At the end, Jesus stands and addresses the audience — to give to the poor and the downtrodden as if they were giving to the Lord.

Performed 2019 and 2020 by clients of Ark Aid Street Mission in churches across the London region.

Rock-In Radio

Written by Stephen Gallant. Music by Larry McGill and his band.

Three acts set in 1950, 1960, and 1970. A family walks through the struggles of life and the fears of each generation. The constant in every decade is the family radio, playing the chart-topping Christian songs of the time.

The underlying message: every period looks insurmountable from inside it — and Jesus is the rock and foundation of life.

Available for churches, missions, and community stages.

Outreach and fundraisers

The Living Lord’s Supper, The Homeless Jesus, and Rock-In Radio have already filled churches and halls as evangelical outreach. They work just as well as fundraisers for churches, auxiliaries, service clubs, and community groups.

Bring a play or a concert evening, sell the seats or pass the plate, and keep the night simple: live music, a story people can sit with, and a room that came for a good reason.
